"Sweet Like You"

i want to take this small perception i have
of you and wrap it slowly around myself because to be
completely surrounded by you, and breath
you in is... what more could i possibly want?

i have such feelings for you, many
words to describe you. these words being sweet, like
subtle waves in the ocean made by dolphins
jumping, playing, as if looking at me, smiling. it's a simple
thing like that-- these feelings, because
when i picture you, or hear you, or just think
about you-- and me, and us... if there is us,
my heart radiates, it sings that song you've played.
one day do you think we could be-- maybe
truly? madly? or deeply?

i wonder sometimes if the air
moved here by the wind has touched your
face and if the butterfly flying by my tree, in my yard,
above the freshly cut grass has seen
the eyes that i could fall in love with.
would i ever know? and if i found out somehow that
this butterfly and these winds have seen you, what would
i do? perhaps smile? or maybe i'd just take you in
my arms. then maybe your lips
can touch my skin with such tenderness, that i'd fall
into so many pieces. you'd have to pick me up.

do you know how many time i spend thinking
of what your kiss is like? and how many more time i spend
on dreams that we could be more than anything i'd ever hope?
but as of this second you've surpassed-- already, anything
and everything, that i've known to be good.
